Make the most of your stay at Porlock Caravan Park and explore the surrounding area. You can easily travel on foot, by car, by bicycle, on horseback or even by train. The area boasts something for everyone; rolling moors, golden sandy beaches and chocolate box villages to name just a few.

Porlock " the friendly village " is just a short stroll from the caravan park and has an excellent selection of cafes, restaurants, pubs and shops. There is also a first class information centre, village recreation ground with tennis courts, a bowling green and children's play area.

Allerford is home to the The West Somerset Rural Life Museum, The Victorian Schoolroom and the falconry and animal centre.

Horner, a designated nature reserve, Lynch, Luccombe and Selworthy are also close by with their distinctive yellow-washed houses.

Dunster the medieval market town, boasts a grand castle and a wealth of beautiful listed buildings, numerous eateries and a good selection of quirky shops and boutiques.

Minehead has everything you need and you can board the West Somerset Railway. Stops include Washford, where you can visit Cleeve Abbey, Blue Anchor-a great way to see what the area has to offer.

Lynton and Lynmouth have traditional fisherman’s cottages, vennicular railway, charming pubs and tea rooms. Spectacular coastal views and rural walks are in abundence. On the way back stop at the hamlet of Oare, home to the story of Lorna Doone.

Ilfracombe, with it’s grand Victorian buildings and harbour, the golden sandy beaches of Woolacombe and Croyde and the bustling town of Barnstaple are also well worth a visit.
